This note provides an update to members who have requested information about buying Added Years and may be experiencing delays.
As part of the review of the NHS Pension Scheme the facility to buy full cost added years was withdrawn on 1 April 2008. The facility to buy half cost added years was not affected and remains open.
We can no longer accept new enquiries about buying full cost years. However, if you have already requested a quote, or have confirmed that you wish to buy added years in line with the closure arrangements, we are currently working on cases in order of receipt and you will hear from us as soon as possible.
So that we can focus on responding to all the Added Years enquiries in the shortest time possible, NHS Pensions respectfully ask that you do not contact us to check the progress of your Added Years query during this busy time. Thank you for your patience.
