The Department of Health has changed the consultation and effective date arrangements for the NHS Pension Scheme, Injury Benefits and Additional Voluntary Contributions (Amendment) Regulations 2009.
The Department of Health has announced that is will defer the enactment of the Choice Exercise regulations until 1 October 2009 to provide for a longer consultation period to allow for further amendments to be considered following discussions at the Technical Advisory Group ( a partnership sub-group of the Governance Group, which in turn reports to the Staff Council).
Therefore, the previous consultation arrangements which covered regulations for the Choice Exercise and Retention of Employment has been revised, as follows, following the original consultation deadline of 13 May 2009.
1: The regulations which underpin Government Policy on Retention of Employment elements of the consultation have now concluded and these regulations will be made effective from 1 July 2009.
2: Separate regulations for the Choice Exercise will now be prepared, and the extended consultation arrangements for these are provided below. The deadline for response is now close of business on Friday 19 June 2009.
A) Making Regulations – An explanatory note which provides more information about these changes can be found here.
B) Revised Draft Choice Exercise Statutory Instrument
C) A supplementary explanation which detail the amendments in the draft instrument.
