Industrial action at the Royal Mail

News Article

22 October 2009

Following the announcement of postal strikes by the Royal Mail this note is to inform our stakeholders that NHS Pensions:

  • will not receive a collection from Hesketh House on Thursday 22 October; and
  • will not receive a delivery or a collection on Friday 23 October.

If deliveries re-commence as planned on Monday 26 October we expect an increased amount of work to register next week but we do not any expect lasting impact to our services.

Pensioners who receive their pension by cheque are likely to be affected by the industrial action.  If they are concerned they should call 0845 1212 522 where necessary to discuss their position. Pensioners who receive their pension by automated BACS transfer direct into their bank account will be unaffected by this industrial action.
