In May, NHS England announced that the Community Pharmacy Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Advanced Service will be recommissioned for 2016/17, with terms and fees for the service remaining the same as in 2015/16.
The service can be provided by any community pharmacy in England, provided that it:
- has a consultation room
- can procure the vaccination
- can meet the data recording requirements
- has appropriately trained staff.
The service will run from 1 September 2016 to 31 March 2017.
Before they begin to provide the service, pharmacies must register their details with NHS England. Once registered, pharmacies can complete and submit a payment claim form to NHS Prescription Services with their monthly submission.
