Between November 2009 and August 2010 the NHS Pensions' Choice Team will be organising and hosting a number of NHS Pension Choice Roadshows for all employers and trade union officials to attend. These events will be held in each Strategic Health Authority (SHA) Region in England and Trusts and Local Health Boards in Wales to provide you, as employers and trade union officials with important information about NHS Pension Choice.
The Roadshows will provide information on:
- How NHS Pension Choice will be delivered;
- Outline what will need to be done both before, and during the exercise, by employers, trade union officials and NHS Pensions;
- Define the respective responsibilities (as central and local adminstrators of the NHS Pension Scheme) in conducting the exercise.
- The strategic implications of NHS Pension Choice, notably the opportunity it presents for NHS organisations in terms of workforce planning and skills retention.
As you may be aware NHS Pension Choice is being delivered on a region by region basis. Road shows have now been run in the South West, South Central, South East Coast and London SHA regions and the following table sets out where and when the remaining Road shows will be:

Attendance at these events is important preparation for all employers and trade union officials and they are encouraged to send along representatives who will be responsible for managing, administrating and supporting NHS Pension Choice within organisations. This is likely to Pension Officers, Payroll Officers, HR Officers and Trade Union Officials in your organisation.
Invitations will be sent to all employers in the appropriate regions approximately one month before they are due to take place. These will provide specific details on locations, dates and venue and information on how to book a place.
