On 1 April 2015 a new NHS Pension Scheme was introduced which covers all transitioning and new NHS employees. Some members are entitled to remain in the 1995 or 2008 Sections until retirement through the Scheme’s Protection arrangements. The content of this website is being updated in stages to reflect these changes. More information about the 2015 Scheme arrangements can be found here.
This section of the website is designed for third parties to access the relevant information they may need about the NHS Pension Scheme. This page directs to other areas of the website.
NHS Pensions require sight of a scheme member’s written authority when dealing with enquiries from a third party. Please read the Written authority rules factsheet before contacting us.
Under The Occupational & Personal Pension Schemes (Disclosure of Information) Regulations 2013 we are legally obliged to provide the following details following a request from a member or their representative.
Details of their annual NHS pension and lump sum benefits payable on a specific date as determined by ourselves.
Dependents (i.e. spouses pension) and any death benefits (i.e. death gratuity).
The ‘specific date’ referred to above will normally be a contemporary date and not a date in the future by virtue that is not practical to project pension benefits. We must however provide details of how we have calculated the benefits such as providing the pensionable pay and membership.
We are not obliged to provide any other information.
