My Application - Bursary Online Support System (BOSS)

The provisional payments made for 2012/13 to some continuing students have now ended. The last payment was made to students on Friday 15 February 2013.

At this time there are still a number of students we have either not received an online application from through the Bursary Online Support System (BOSS) or have not yet sent us all of the required supporting evidence needed to process their application.

We would advise all students to log onto their online account here https://myaccount.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/Pages/Login.aspx to check if there is evidence outstanding or to create a BOSS application if they haven't already done so. Please remember that until we receive all of the supporting evidence, we are unable to process the application and award you any payments for the remainder of your academic year.

If you have already made an online Bursary registration or firm application via the Bursary Online Support System (BOSS) please note that the barcode cover sheet address, has now changed.

All evidence to support your claim should be now sent with the barcode cover sheet to:

If you are a continuing student for Autumn 2013, have you read all of the information found here before making your application?

Please note that guidance and deadlines for new students who are applying for a bursary for Autumn 2013 will be communicated out very soon. If you are a new student who has had an offer of a place on an NHS funded course from a Higher Education Institution (HEI) and would like to apply for a bursary now, please do so by creating a BOSS account, completing the relevant forms and sending in all of your evidence in one go, as soon as it is available.

In addition please note Citizen Identity Cards are no longer accepted as a valid form of identity.

BOSS students should complete the following through their BOSS account:

  • Application for Disabled Students' Allowance
  • Application for Dependants' Allowance
  • Change of Address
  • Change of Bank Details
  • Change of Personal Circumstances

Applications for Childcare Allowance and Practice Placement Expenses (PPE) claims are completed by downloading the appropriate form from the table below. Completed forms (except PPE) should be sent to the Ridgway House address above with your barcode cover sheet included (downloadable from the Documents section of your BOSS account). PPE claim forms should be submitted to your HEI for authorisation. Your HEI will then send them to us. Don't forget you still need to provide your HEI with your barcode cover sheet otherwise there will be delays in the processing of your claim.
