COVID-19 home delivery service for dispensing doctors claim form

The form that dispensing doctors must use to claim payment for the COVID-19 home delivery service is now available from the NHSBSA website.

From 9 April 2020, NHS England and NHS Improvement commissioned a home delivery service (PDF: 374KB) from dispensing doctors to ensure delivery of prescribed medicines and appliances to vulnerable patients during the COVID-19 outbreak.

This means that patients meeting the COVID-19 shielding criteria, who need to stay at home and away from community pharmacy and dispensing doctor premises, must be offered a home delivery option for their prescription items, unless a family member, friend, relative or volunteer can collect the medicine for them.

To claim payment for the home delivery service, dispensing doctors need to complete the home delivery service claim form (Word: 256KB) and submit it to the NHSBSA with their monthly account.

The funding of these services will be in addition to the current contractual agreement for dispensing doctors.
