This is an announcement on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).
The fee for ensuring home delivery during the COVID-19 outbreak is being redetermined to take into account:
- a substantial increase to the number of patients in the cohort of Clinically Extremely Vulnerable (CEV)
- the expansion of the service to people who are self-isolating in line with any announcement issued by NHS England and NHS Improvement
The daily fee will continue to be applicable in accordance with the start and finish date of the service as per NHS England and NHS Improvement’s announcement and in line with the cohort of patient to whom home the service applies to. Pharmacy contractors should note that the change comes into effect retrospectively from 1 March 2021. This change is not reflected in the published March 2021 Drug Tariff.
