NHS written complaints – KO41b Dental return – Collection open

As you will be aware, the NHS has a statutory responsibility to collect service wide data on patient complaints so trends can be identified and we can demonstrate that the service is being responsive to patient feedback. Primary care providers are required to provide brief details of written complaints associated with your NHS care by submitting a KO41b return.

As in previous years the NHSBSA is undertaking the collection of KO41b returns on behalf of NHS England and NHS Digital.

You will need to submit a KO41b for each NHS dental contract you held between the dates of 1 April 2016 and 31 March 2017. Even if you have received no complaints a return must still be made.

The collection period has started and will close on 7 June 2017.

You are reminded that it is a statutory requirement to declare complaints information and it remains a contractual requirement, detailed in the 2009 complaints regulations.
