Antidepressant Prescribing

Antidepressants are used to treat clinical depression or prevent it recurring. Some medications classified as antidepressants are also used for non-mental health purposes such as to treat bed-wetting in young children and to support pain management.

This data provides a breakdown of the prescribing of antidepressants by age group for the financial years 2015/16 and 2016/17. It is based on NHSBSA data.
