You have 12 months from the date on your Remediable Service Statement (RSS) to tell us which benefits you’d like to take.
If you do not reply, we’ll update your benefits permanently to pay you 1995 or 2008 benefits for the remedy period. This is option A in your RSS.
Details about how to tell us your choice are in your RSS.
What happens after we receive your choice
We’ll update your pension benefits within 60 days of receiving your Decision Form back.
If your decision means your benefits will change, we’ll send you a statement confirming your updated benefits.
Take your time to choose what’s right for you
The projected timelines reflect how pension benefits are currently being treated under the Remedy. They do not determine which option will be right for you or guarantee a particular financial outcome.
For example:
- some members in Timeline 1 may find that their current benefits remain the most appropriate option
- some members in Timeline 2 may still find that an alternative set of benefits would provide a different outcome
Your RSS will show personalised calculations for your individual circumstances. You can then compare the benefits and decide which you’d like to take.
If you’ve been overpaid
If you need to repay any overpaid pension, we’ll include a payment instruction form for you to complete.
You can tell us how you want to pay. You can do this by:
- making a one-off payment
- accepting monthly deductions to your pension payments over a period that suits you
Monthly instalment calculator
We have a Monthly instalment calculator (Excel 29.7KB) to help you understand the impact of your repayments. You can use it to find out:
- what your monthly deduction would be
- how long it’ll take to repay
- how much interest you’ll need to pay
