Registering without NHSmail

To register without an NHSmail address, your organisation’s email must both:

Ask your IT department if your organisation’s email meets these requirements. If it does, email us at nhsbsa.healthcosts@nhs.net

You’ll need to include your:

  • name
  • NMC or GMC number
  • organisational email address

We'll use these details to verify your professional identity.

We'll email you to confirm when you are registered. You’ll then be able to use the online service.

Registering if you're a GP

GPs cannot currently self-register online for this service. If you're a GP, you can still use the online service, but we will handle your registration.

To register, email nhsbsa.healthcosts@nhs.net and include your:

  • name
  • GMC number
  • NHSmail address (an email address ending with @nhs.net)

We'll use these details to check your professional identity.

Once we've confirmed your identity, we'll register you and send you the login details. You'll then be able to issue maternity exemption certificates on behalf of your patients.

We'll email you to confirm when you are registered. You’ll then be able to use the online service.

If you change roles or leave the NHS

If you no longer need to use the service email nhsbsa.healthcosts@nhs.net.
