Extension to the Pharmacy Quality Scheme 2021/22

The Pharmacy Quality Scheme window to claim payment has been extended as a result of the COVID-19 vaccination efforts of pharmacy contractors.

If you are unable to complete your domain(s) before 25 February 2022, you can make a declaration that you will complete this before 31 March 2022 and that evidence will be provided by 30 June 2022.
This excludes:

  • PCN Domain – this required collaborative work on flu vaccination uptake which must have been completed by 31 December 2021.
  • Advice on return of unwanted and used inhalers (Respiratory Domain) – the end of the period during which pharmacy teams should have conversations with patients dispensed an inhaler is still 31 January 2022.

The deadline to claim for the minimum 20 NMS required has also been extended to 5 April 2022 (for NMS undertaken by 31 March 2022). Any claims we receive after this date will not be eligible.

Evidence for the above must be retained to demonstrate that you have met the requirements as they may be requested after 30 June 2022.

These changes are included in the Drug Tariff Determination. These are not reflected in the published December 2021 Drug Tariff or the January 2022 Drug Tariff.
