This change will currently only affect members who have claimed an element of their pension benefit. Other members will not be impacted.
On Pensions Online (POL), an employment will display your member’s ID and start date as per the example below:
| ID | Start date | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | 01/07/2000 | Closed |
| 5 | 04/01/2010 | Open |
- ID 2 has a start date of 01/07/2000 and is closed
- ID 5 has a start date of 04/01/2010 and is open
Following changes made to employment links within NHS Pensions, this will now appear differently.
The ‘new employments’ row will now be visible. This will only occur if the employment is from Wednesday 1 April 2015 to Friday 1 April 2022. For example, ID 5 is across both dates. Moving forward, this will appear as follows:
- ID 5 – start date 04/01/2010 – closed
- ID 6 – start date 01/04/2015 – closed
- ID 7 – start date 01/04/2022 – open
When submitting members’ forms, you will need to ensure that the correct period is selected for each financial year.
SD55 (update) and SD55t (termination) will only be available for ID 7 and will show a start date of 01/04/2022 on the forms.
SD55e will depend on the financial year you are updating. For example, if you are trying to amend something within the financial year of 2019 you would need to select ID 6.
