We will shortly be launching a new Data Hub designed to make our data services more accessible, responsive and easier to navigate.
The new platform brings together dental (eDEN), prescriptions (ePACT2) and ophthalmic (eOPS) data and our open data resources in a single location, with enhanced navigation and support features.
Responding to user needs
We've listened to your feedback about making our data more discoverable and comprehensive.
The new platform addresses these needs by providing practical insights that are simple to find, use and understand. All existing functionality remains in place – you'll still be able to retrieve your data in the same way, whilst benefiting from these improvements. We'll continue to develop the platform over time based on your ongoing feedback.
New features
The Data Hub will be launched in phases, and a beta version will initially be available to current users of eDEN, ePACT2 and eOPS.
The first release will include:
- Simpler navigation: An improved structure takes users straight to the data they need, with clear menus, a focused homepage and intuitive page journeys. From every page, users can quickly move to supporting content such as Training Hub resources or the news centre when they need extra help or context. The Data Hub follows the NHS Design System, so it looks and behaves like other familiar NHS services.
- Everything in one place: Each dashboard, dataset and publication will include clearer descriptions, with a view to building a full set of metadata over time. Content will be grouped into subject areas, so if you are interested in prescribing and dispensing data you can see everything we offer – from ePACT2 and Open Data through to statistical publications and data science insights – all in one place. Users told us they do not always know what data is available, so we have brought related content together to make it easier to find.
- A news centre: A central home for all Data Hub updates, with an improved look and feel that makes updates easier to find and read. Users will be able to filter by product, topic or tag to focus on what matters to them and easily share updates with colleagues by email or Teams.
Get involved
The new Data Hub has been created with input from users who contributed to the platform’s development throughout research sessions during spring and summer.
We are now inviting users to join a beta community workspace to influence future developments of the Data Hub.
Community members will get:
- early access to new features
- opportunities to test content before public release
- direct engagement with the development team and fellow users
- the opportunity to shape the tools they use every day
All users of our data platforms are encouraged to participate, to provide feedback and to ensure the new Data Hub works for them.
