The calculations to award additional UDAs will be based on the Clinical Data Set (CDS) items entered on the FP17. It is therefore important that this is fully completed.
For claims with Date of Acceptance on or after Friday 25 November 2022, special attention should be paid to completing the following CDS items:
• Permanent fillings
• Endodontics - molar on permanent teeth
• Endodontics - non-molar on permanent teeth
|2a||Treatment which does not include activity from Band 2b or Band 2c||3 UDA|
|2b||Includes extraction or fillings to 3 or more teeth or non-molar endodontic care to permanent teeth||5 UDA|
|2c||Molar endodontic care to permanent teeth||7 UDA|
Patient charges remain the same for all Band 2 treatments.

Recording extractions and fillings
Numbers for these items are based on tooth count.
Fillings must be permanent fillings, and submitted numbers should be based on the number of teeth with permanent fillings completed, not the number of actual fillings.
Recording endodontic treatment
For courses of treatment starting on or after 1 October 2022, endodontic treatment is now split into 2 categories:
- Endodontic – Molar
- Endodontic – Non-molar
Endodontic – Molar
The number of permanent molar teeth endodontically treated (root filled) should be submitted. Treatment on deciduous teeth must not be included.
Endodontic – Non-molar
The number of permanent non-molar teeth endodontically treated (root filled) should be submitted. Treatment on deciduous teeth must not be included.

Viewing your UDA delivery in Compass
You can view your up-to-date UDA delivery in Compass:
- select the Activity folder
- select Activity Actuals
- enter the contract number you wish to view data for
- enter the financial year
- select Execute
You can use the dropdown bar to select whether you'd like to view the report in HTML, PDF or Excel.

Amending your FP17 data
FP17s can be amended after they've been submitted. How you do this depends on how the claim was submitted. Read 'How do I amend an FP17 or FP17O?' for more information.
