Open days

We hold monthly open days so our customers can come and see how we process prescriptions. Each session lasts about 3 hours.

Anyone involved in sending in prescriptions for reimbursement and remuneration may find our open days useful, especially if you are a:

  • pharmacist
  • dispensing doctor
  • GP who claims for personally administrated items
  • dispensing appliance contractor

2019 open days in Newcastle, Middlebrook and Wakefield (Excel: 15KB)

How to book your place

Spaces are limited so we recommend to book early. Our Newcastle open day limit is 12 people per session. For Middlebrook and Wakefield the limit is 10 people per session.

Priority will go to customers involved in sending in prescriptions for reimbursement and remuneration. If you aren't involved in this process but are still interested in attending, we'll put your details on our reserve list and contact you if spaces become available.

Sessions may be cancelled if there aren't a sufficient number of spaces filled.

Webinar sessions

We hold webinar sessions for dispensing contractors on a range of topics to keep you informed and answer any questions you may have. These usually last around 30 minutes.

We can provide guidance on:

  • why prescriptions are switched between exempt and chargeable
  • how and when to endorse prescriptions
  • how to prepare, sort and submit your account and submission document - for either pharmacy FP34C or dispensing doctors FP34D
  • how to complete and submit your FP10MDA forms
  • how to submit your quarterly NMS & MUR data
  • reconciling your Schedule of Payments with the Prescription Item Report

If you would like to learn more and are interested in attending any of these webinars, contact nhsbsa.webinars@nhs.net and we'll get back to you to arrange a suitable date and time.
