Dental Prescribing Dashboard - April 2025 (Excel: 3.1MB)

The data covers dental prescribing and dispensing activity across England, from January 2022 onwards.

The dashboard provides insight to primary dental care teams on prescribing and how this varies across the dispensing of NHS England Integrated Care Boards (ICBs).

The dashboard is updated monthly to ensure users always have access to the most current information.

It is designed for dental public health consultants and local dental networks. It aims to help identify outlying activities and trends that could improve best practice for prescribing among primary care dentists. This data can also be used at large organisation level (ICB and above) to look at trends in antimicrobial prescribing across primary care.

Analysis is based on prescriptions submitted by pharmacy contractors and dispensing doctors in England and considers data from dental FP17 forms scheduled during the same time period.

Three key datasets are included in the dashboard:

  • Overall prescribing
  • Antibacterial prescribing
  • Fluoride prescribing
